South Padre Island

South Padre Island is a resort town on a sandbar of the same name, off the south Texas coast. It is known for its beaches and calm waters. The South Padre Bird and Nature Center features a five-story observation tower from which migrating birds can be observed. The South Padre Dolphin and Marine Nature Research Center offers boat tours and touch tanks. Sea Turtle Inc. rescues and rehabilitates sea turtles.
